Every company in the Netherlands gets an 8-digit number from the Kamer van Koophandel. That space is finite, and it is almost used up.

Before 2010 the first two digits indicated the regional chamber. After that the KVK switched to sequential numbers starting at 50000000, with a modulo-11 checksum so a single typo cannot land on another valid company. On 6 March 2025 that range hit the top. New numbers are now filled in from the unused gap between 42000000 and 50000000, this time without the checksum.

I built a small site that tracks the highest issued number, lists recent registrations, and estimates when that remaining range runs out.

The site is at https://kvkcountdown.nl.
